Description

Lunch for you and your toddler

Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 leek, cut in rounds
  • 1 carrot roughly chopped
  • 2 celery cut into pieces
  • 1 c dried pearl barley
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 pn salt -optional

Instructions

Let the child/ren wash and cut the vegetables with a plastic knife. Put everything in the rice cooker with enough water to cover. Press Cook. When the rice cooker clicks "finished, " press cook again. Let the soup cool before serving.

Notes

You can start this project after breakfast and have it ready for lunch. Expand the time if you like by giving the child/ren more time to cut the vegetables.
Timing for this soup depends upon how small the vegetable pieces are cut-so depending upon your child/ren, it could take more or less time.
