Recipes

These recipes are designed for small children with small amounts of  a minimal number of ingredients. This makes them quick to make and cook.

These are not gourmet recipes for adults - most are very bland but the children like to eat what they cook themselves.

An adult will need to remove hot foods from the microwave and the rice cooker, but apart from that, the child/ren can do everything themselves.

There are many opportunites for counting and talking about numbers while cooking, but keep it simple. Young children do not need to learn fractions, but they may be interested in cutting things up into portions. "Let's cut two pieces the same. Where shall I put the knife?"

Or, "Let's put 2 eyes on each sugar mouse. Count out nine groups of two eyes."
